BAR MONROE
Located on the second floor of a building in Akabane, BAR MONROE offers a broad range of whiskies and spirits, alongside cocktails tailored to your mood.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Glancing across the rows of bottles lined up behind the counter, it is easy to start imagining what to drink tonight. Set on the second floor of a building along a quiet street in Akabane, BAR MONROE is an easygoing, understated bar where seasoned drinkers and newcomers alike can feel completely at home.
Part of the pleasure of spending time here is how effortlessly you can share vague moods or broad flavor preferences with the bartender. Whether you ask for something fruit-forward or a fragrant long cocktail to sip slowly, easy conversation guides the creation of a drink tailored to your current frame of mind. From classic standards like the Sidecar to house originals enlivened by fresh citrus, each pour offers vivid aromas and colors meant to be savored at an unhurried pace.
The extensive selection of spirits lining the shelves is another compelling draw. With whiskies ranging from standard labels to independent bottlings, alongside gin, rum, beer, and wine, you can comfortably set your own rhythm from an opening drink to a final pour served neat. Ask about an unfamiliar bottle, and you can count on thoughtful guidance regarding its distinct character and how best to enjoy it.
Centered around a counter with additional table seating, the interior feels like a quiet retreat, bathed in subdued lighting and gentle music. Whether unwinding alone over a quiet glass or catching up with a friend over unfamiliar flavors, the room accommodates you with an attentive yet unhurried distance.
